A little about me and how this fiber art work started...

I began this handmade journey after the birth of my second child sewing baby blankets and carseat covers for myself and friends.  As a mom of two, caffeine was a must! So, my sewing transformed from blankets to fabric cup cozies – which these items quickly became one of my best sellers.

Making items within my Etsy shop BobbinThreadBoutique was only a “side hobby” while on maternity leave.  I soon realized that I didn’t have enough time in my sewing room once I returned to work. But…I still needed something to do in my “spare time” so, I took up a new knitting obsession which quickly took my yarn stash to a whole new level.  Any knitter will tell your that you can’t just buy one ball of yarn! The textures and types of yarn became so fascinating to me and I needed more!

My why...

Having two young children, juggling full-time employment, and managing daily life was a balancing act for my time.  At times, I feel pulled in multiple directions and am out of my element in terms of business. I wanted to give up many times, but I believed in my passion to create so many wonderful items that bring joy to so many people.   Then, in early 2019, my husband was diagnosed with cancer, leukemia to be exact, and this shook up our whole world.  I needed a serious time out to deal with all the stress and anxiety we were facing and continue to face.

You are why I do what I do!

Being a creator and also needing an escape, I use crafting as a medium for self-care.  It turns out, that my love for fiber art products, particularly weaving, is a good way for me to manage my stress and anxiety.  The challenges and set-backs that we are facing have me learning what is important to me and my business.  I am beginning to grow from these challenges and realize where my passions lie. To be able to keep my hands busy and have someone enjoy my creations, fills my cup.  This is why, I wouldn’t be here without the support of so many of you.  Because of my customers, I remain inspired to expand my collections. Each woven wall art decor makes an amazing gift that will be treasured for years to come.  I am always seeking out ways to learn and grow throughout this weaving process to ensure home decorating needs are met.

Thank you for being here to see how this fiber art weaving journey began

My one drawback, is that there are only so many hours in the day, way too many ideas, and not enough time! I look forward to being able to make a memorable and cherished weaving for your home or for a loved one.  Please don’t just take my word for it, have a look around and connect with me!

I am truly honoured that anyone who gets one of my handmade woven and fiber art wall hangings, knows they are getting an authentic Blue Rhubarb Creations worthy for any home decorating need.
